1903 SPRINGFIELDS AVAILABLE Jim Beckwith has located a pawn shop in Topeka with limited number of modified, non-firing Springfields. The broker wants $300 each. If anyone wants one to hang on their wall, please contact Jim. These were used by a high school drill team. The barrels are plugged, but they are in good shape. They can be retrofitted to fire for additional money. Since they can be retrofitted, you would have to find someone with a Federal Firearms license to handle the transaction if you want to have one shiped. Alternatively, Jim says that if you are coming to the reunion in September, he can make the purchase and transfer the weapon to you with a bill of sale. He would need the money from you in order to do that. Please note that local sales tax is about 8%, or an additional $24. |

G-7 CHANGING OF THE GUARD FOR VETERAN'S DAY 2010 KANSAS STATE'S WWII MEMORIAL MAJ Hofstra submitted this link to U-Tube footage taken on 11/10/10. "It's the Jennings brothers doing an inspection and a changing of the guard at the K-State WWII Memorial. They were sharp! One of the local news crews was on site filming during the ceremony. Here is the youtube link. Unfortunately we didn't get the entire changing of the guard. The Jennings brothers and Huguley did an outstanding job." |

New G-7 P/R's and Nearly Complete Unit (Plus Advisor MAJ Hofstra and Alumni Chatelain & Allen) |
NEW ACTIVES INITIATED AT KANSAS STATE 06 December 2010 Company G-7 initiated seven new members on 06 December. Alumni Bud Allen and John Chatelain were able to be present for the event. Three members who were unable to attend the ceremony last spring were also included. An additional six pledges are expected to start in the coming spring semester. That could bring G-7's membership up to about thirty by the end of the 2010-11 school year. |
TOPEKA AREA P/R COFFEE AND DINNER EVENTS January Coffee on 19th - 0900 at Classic Bean in Fairlawn Plaza. As a general rule (weather dependant) Topeka area PR coffees will be on the 3d Thursday of each month, at 0900 hours, at the Fairlawn Plaza Classic Bean coffee house. NATIONAL SOCIETY NEWS PRNAA CONFIRMED AS A 501C10 NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION On September 19th, 2011, the PRNAA was informed that it had been approved by the IRS as a Non-Profit as a "Lodge System" Since G-7 has a non-profit status through the KSU Foundation, this will not change our status, but this is a major accomplishment for the National Organization, particualarly the National Headquarters. |
2012 NATCON The next NATCON will be held in Baltimore, Maryland. Dates are set from March 15th through 18th. The Drill meet will be held on Saturday. For more information, check the web site through the link below. |
2011 G-7 ALUMNI REUNION 30 September and 01 October. Kansas State's "Fort Riley Day" Game Baylor University. Bud and Betty Allen once again generously hosted our Friday evening barbeque at their home in Auburn, Kansas. They also provided their parking space at the football stadium for the annual tail gate party. The Army ROTC Department held it's reunion on the same day. Friday evening, the Army ROTC Department inducted Jeff Woodall into their Wall of Fame. An open house at the Meyers Hall prior to the game Saturday included the unveiling the 1969 G-7 National Championship plaque. The Honorable Order of General of the Armies John Joseph Pershing was presented to LTC Scott Bridegam, MAJ Ryan Hofstra, and CPT Adam McKee for their support in rebuilding Company G-7. LTC Meyer was on TDY. He will receive the same honor in the near future. |
