Since this web site was my idea, I guess I should be the first one to stick his neck out and make a post here.

Following my graduation from KSU, I went to the KU School of Medicine and earned my M.D. That was followed by a four-year internship and
anesthesiology residency at Brooke Army Medical Center. My wife, Cathy, and I were married during my senior year in residency. After spending two
and a half years at the MEDDAC in Nurnberg, Germany, we accepted a position with a multi-specialty clinic in Fargo, North Dakota. The last six
years, I have been working at our satellite clinic in Bemidji, MN, in our Same-Day Surgery Center. For the last ten years, I have been active in the
American Society of Anesthesiologist at the state and national levels, serving as the North Dakota representative on their board of directors.

We have lived in Fargo for 26 years. We have three children, two girls and a boy. They are in or finished with college at this point, so the nest is
empty. Sarah, our oldest is a Veterinary Technician, but has decided to return to NDSU to earn a bachelors degree. Beth graduated last spring and
plans to spend the next year teaching in India. Lucas is a junior at the University of Vermont.

Hey John,
GREAT talking with you the other day!
A lot of water has gone under the bridge since the days we were marching to "Kill the Commander."
I've been here in San Jose for over thirty years now, moving from one electronics company to another.
I've been with PFU Systems since 2001. Small company, but not bad. As National Sales Mgr I do a lot of flying around the country visiting customers,
so hopefully I fly close to you sometime soon.
I became a Freemason in 1993, and it's one of the best things I've EVER done!! It's a fantastic worldwide fraternity, with its guiding aims being to
improve a man morally, spiritually and socially to be a better man for himself, his family, his community, his country and his God. It's really helped me
grow.
Still doing my magic, and I book 5-10 shows a month.
So - email me back with a little about what you're doing and this Pershing Rifles gig that's coming up.
All the best, John, and I hope to hear from you soon.
Fraternally,
Hank

John.
I'm glad someone finally took the bull by the horn and decided to find everyone. The pictures were great and I think I might have some lying around
also. I'm retired now after two careers. I stayed in the Army and was medically retired as a Major for wounds I got tagged with 12 years before. Oh,
well you know the Army. I ran into Black Bart at fort Lewis in the early 1980s and he was I think in a armor unit there. I also knew Steve Brooks at
Fort Bragg when I was in the 82D Airborne and he was going to SF school down the street. Rich Gray was stationed at Fort Riley and left the service
and ended up I heard, as a high school principal in Clay Center ks. I also heard he became a school district superintent in Ks. I was never able to link
up with him and I would like to find him. I found Rick Foster in Kansas City in the early 90s and we saw each other a few times but then we both
moved away and lost contact. Steve Heywood and I have stayed close and we are still like brothers. If you remember I dated Valerie for most of our
college years and we broke up our junior year. I married someone else and after then broke apart I was able to reconect with Val and we are now
married. We talk about the old PR days all of the time. I miss all you guys. My health isn't good due to probable Agent orange posioning and it has
resulted in some neruological challenges for me but I would still like to see everyone again if possible.
Take care,
Jeff

Guys--

I am in Topeka. Where are the rest of you now? I am still in the Army, a Major General with assignment on The Joint Staff, J4, at the Pentagon.
It would be great to hear from you,

It seems so long ago. I only wish that there were more pictures ... And I can't find myself (the story of my life). I was in my early 20s then ... now mid
50s.

Graduated from K-State in December of '73 w/ a BS EE and was commissioned, U.S Army Signal Corps, in January of '74. Spent half of my 20 year
career in the Federal Republic of Germany (2 separate tours) supporting Infantry and Armor units in Crailsheim and south of Giessen on "the Rock".
Also served as the Communications Electronics Staff Officer (CESO) for the 56th Field Artillery Command (Pershing Missile) ... so John Joseph
Pershing once again became the namesake of the place I wore the uniform (I remember General Pershing's middle name because Rich Gray and Jeff
Woodall hazed it into my brain when I was a PR pledge ... btw ... I can still recite "How is the Cow" and "Thumper's Oration").

One of the best jobs I ever had, military or civilian, was 21 months of company command in the 16th Signal Battalion at Ft. Hood, Tx. Retired from the
Army in January of '94; and after a few years searching for a job that fit my disposition, I settled with Electronic Data Systems (EDS ... company
founded by Ross Perot). For almost four of those years I have been the Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO) for the Army's Assistant Chief
of Staff for Installation Management (ACSIM).

My wife, Janet, and I live in Northern Virginia, north of Manassas; and are active members of Centreville Presbyterian Church. We have an observatory
about 300 ft behind the house w/ a 10" Schmidt-Cassegrain mounted on a concrete pillar under a 10 ft dia dome. During the winter months we help girl
scouts and boy scouts get astronomy badges when they come out (Saturday evenings) to gaze at distant things in the night sky & talk about "what's
up".

Old G-7 P/Rs,

I recently got the email from John Chatelain about the G-7 site.

Good to hear that John is doing this.

Some of us have maintained (although somewhat sporadic) contact with each other and every once in a while we get together for a game.

This year we (Paul Scott, John Oswald & wife Judith , Fred Martin & wife Rhoda, Bud Allen & wife Betty, and my wife Janet and I) are attending the
17 Nov game with Missouri. Whenever we can set up a get together we meet at Bud Allen's parking spot and have a pot luck. Bud is famous for his
"Bud burgers) and being the most dedicated die hard Cats football supporter ever

Those of us who are not season ticket holders have seats reserved in section 427. There where still seats available when I got tickets last week, so if
you can make it, it would be great to see you again.

One other thing we are trying to get started is a last man club. Bud Allen is working setting it up. In short, we buy a bottle of good booze and the last
man alive drinks it in memory of the rest of us. I think Ripple or MD 20/20 would be fitting.

John,
I was in G-7 from 1967 thru 1971 with Paul Scott and that group. I credit the PR's with giving me the focus to complete college (I was on the verge of
flunking out when I joined). I was commissioned as a MP and served for three years in FRG, returned home, got my MA in History and started a 26
year teaching career. I resigned my commission in 1977 at the urging of my wife, but got to missing the military life. I joined the Kansas Guard in
1988, got divorced and commanded a Maintenance company in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm, came home and married my next door neighbor. I
transferred to the Army Reserve in 1998 and during my deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom, retired from teaching and resettled to the Kansas City
area. I have three grown sons, Ryan Weston, and Jeremy. For the last three years I have been a contractor at Ft Leavenworth, (first at CALL, Center
for Army Lessons Learned) and currently as a contract historian for the Combat Studies Institute. (MG) Don Jacka is the only other PR I have ran into.
I am planning to attend the Missouri game and bought my ticket today. In your most recent addition of photo's I saw a skinny kid from western
Kansas awaiting inspection. Wish I still had that body. Thanks for putting this site together.

My story:

I attended K State from 1965 to 1970 and majored in Architecture. After graduation, since I could not complete my military commission due to illness,
we (my wife Betty and I) went back to our home Town, Buffalo NY., were I began my career in Architecture. After 2 years we moved to Florida where I
started my own firm in Ft. Lauderdale. I just recently closed my business after 35 years to go to work as a Project Planner for Florida Atlantic
University. I have 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren and am happily married to the same person for almost 40 years. I have fond memories of
Company G and am looking forward to meeting some of our G7 troops from the old days. Wonder what happened to Wolfer?

To All,

Love those photos on the web site. I’m in most of the “Head Hunter” drill team photos. Since I participated, I could not take many pictures of our team.
However I do have some which I scan and email to you.

I remember our first event which was for a basket ball half time show at KSU (our home ground). What a blood bath! We got booed off the court. From
that night on, we vowed to be the best team in the Nation. And that is just what we became. After that night we (our team) never got as much as a
scratch from those nasty bayonets. We won many trophies (any one know where they are?)

Greetings Headhunters,

Since graduation in Dec 71, I completed my military career with assignments across the spectrum of the infantry world, earned a masters degree, and
even had a teaching assignment at West Point. Since retirement I have been steadily employed with the various mission support contractors for the
US Army Joint Readiness Training, first at Fort Chaffee, AR and now at Fort Polk, LA. I have had the privilege of doing scenario development work in
support of JRTC rotations for just about every US based unit in the Army in preparation for deployments to Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo, and ongoing Iraq,
and Afghanistan deployments. It is just a small contribution, but I get tremendous satisfaction in continuing to work with our Army's great Soldiers.

Following the "crash of 73" I married Denise, in 1975. She was the Army Nurse OIC of my ward and she did wonders accelerating my recovery,. She
has tolerated me admirably since then and is now Director of Nursing at a local medical facility. We have two kids. Tarra, the oldest, taught school in
Texas and now resides in Mississippi with her husband and daughter (another one on the way). Our son, Erick, is currently serving his 2d tour in Iraq.
His wife, a local Cajun girl and school teacher, and two daughters reside in the local area so we see them constantly.

I have always regretted not being more proactive in keeping in touch with former PRs, but now maybe I can get back into the swing of things. I
remember with great fondness those K-State days.

V/R,

Paul Scott

I was acitive in Pershing Rifle from 1972 though 1974. I left KSU and worked for a year trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I graduated
from KWU in 1978 with a degree in Chemistry. I married and have 2 adult kids now and have been working in the petroleum industry formulating
lubricants, greases, and oils. I hold 12 US Patents and have been acitve in several professional groups. I remember my time with G-7 as a rewarding,
learning, and fun time.

I would like to start by expressing my appreciation for your putting this WEB Site together. I like many of the others who have written here have
wondered what happened to the members of G-7.

I received my degree in Nuclear Engineering and then followed up with a second degree in Mechanical Engineering. My only regret from that era is that
they pushed getting engineering degrees in 4 years. They are now recommending engineering students limit their semester to 14 or 15 hours and
accept that it will take 5 years. The purpose is to allow the student to be a little better rounded. It would have given me a little more time to spend on
things I loved, like PRs.

I went to work for Halliburton Services, oil well servicing firm at that time, when I graduated. Spent a year in Perryton, Texas and then Hays, Kansas.
Worked for Kansas City Power and Light at one of their power plants for almost a year. I then found a job in the Engineering Design group at Fort
Leavenworth. Worked there for three years and then went to work as a project manager at the Bureau of Prisons Regional Office in Kansas City, MO.
Spent 4 years with the Bureau of Prisons and then when back to Fort Leavenworth. Spent some time as the Energy Engineer at the Fort and then
moved into the environmental field in 1990. I am currently working storage tanks and restoration work. The restoration being interesting as we are
closing all the old landfills and contaminated sites that have resulted from operations over the years.

I got married in 1979 to my wife Jeanne. She and I have two children. My daughter went to De Paul University and has a BFA in Theater Lighting. She
is working as a free lance lighting technician in Chicago. My son is in his third year of Mechanical Engineering at KSU. We live in Shawnee, Kansas
and I commute everyday to Fort Leavenworth.

I like many others have been in contact with a few others from that era. John Barnes who put me onto this site is living in Texas. Tom Hopkins is living
in the Chicago area. As of 10 years ago, Kermit Taylor was living near Wichita. I ran into Major David Magnison "Pappa Dave" in 1986. He was in the
Health Services Command working on the hospital on Fort Leavenworth.

Unfortunately I must report that Jerry Smith who was in my 1971 pledge class, drill team in 1973(?) and worked at PR HQ in Lincoln, Nebraska passed
away close to 10 years ago. He did finally graduate from Nebraska after being in school for at least 6 years. He was working for the Corps of
Engineers. For those who have been to Pinion Canyon in Colorado, that was his baby. He died of leukemia.

Glad to see so many names I know on the site.

I was in G-7 from 1971 thur 1975. I graduated, got married to Ellie (my college sweetheart), and spend my army time in Armor in German, Ft. Knox,
and Ft. Riley. I have 3 kids and 3 grandkids. After my army time was over I operated a Christian Radio station here in Emporia, KS for 20 years. I now
work for the OPFOR and for Operations Group Bravo at the BCTP (Battle Command Training Program) in Fort Leavenworth. I am a contractor with
Northrup-Grumman and we actually play wargames for the army at different bases around the world. I can't believe that all the time "Hoppy" and I
played wargames was just career development for later life! Now I get paid for it. I am also the Emporia High Mens Soccer coach.

I still hear from Richard "Hoppy" Hopkins once in awhile by e-mail and we've gotten together twice when he was back in KC. He lives in Florida now.
John Barnes told me about this site but I haven't seen John in years. I saw Vernie a few times since college but not under good circumstances. We
both had children in Childrens Mercy Hospital in KC at the same time several years ago and ran into each other there. I think she still lives in the KC
area but I don't know for sure.

I was in G-7 from 1972 through 1976 and was XO for the 74-75 and 75-76 school years.

I graduated in 1976 with a BS Electrical Engineering and is started my career at Motorola Semiconductor in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1981 I joined an
SGS, an Italian based semiconductor company and direct competitor to Motorola and worked in the Phoenix facility for 10 years, then they requested
I move to the Chicago area. Over the years the company merged with Thomson Semiconductor and became SGS-Thomson Microelectronics and not
just STMicroeelctronics. I’ve been with the company now for 26 years. I met Becky in college and we got married just after graduation. She is a
Medical Technologist and worked in the lab at a hospital in Mesa, AZ when we lived there and is not an internal auditor in the quality department of
Abbott Labs. After 31 years of “bad jokes” (I call it enlightened humor but she doesn’t agree) we are still together.

Other than work, may major activity is as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. I’m active on the council level and was on the staff for the 2005
National Jamboree and the 2007 World Jamboree in Chelmsford England.

I have some photos from the ’73 and ’74 exhibition drill team; Terry Bartkoski was the team commander.

I’ll try to get them scanned and e-mail them.

Out of the blue, John Barnes contacted me after 26-odd years and we got together in Orlando last night. He clued me in to this website, and the
photos and names brought back a flood of memories. I am Richard "Hoppy" Hopkins, member of G-7 from 1970 to 1974. Graduated with a RA
commission in QMC; transferred to Infantry in 1976. Did my platoon leader time in Korea and my company command/battalion staff time with the
101st. Went on to train Salvadorians and did a hitch with the School of the Americas in Panama/Ft Benning where I ended brevetted to major to serve
as school battalion commander; then I went on to organize the S-5 shop in the 197th Infantry Brigade (H)(M). I retired as a LTC with US Special
Operations Command at MacDill AFB in 1994. I am currently the Dean of Student Services on the Plant City Campus of Hillsborough Community
College.

I've been married nearly 30 years and have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. My oldest daughter is married to an Air Force NCO who just returned from
his fifth trip to the Sandbox 2 weeks ago (he's a bird mechanic). My next daughter manages a retail store in Tallahassee, and my sonn teaches in the
Japanese school system and at the Univeristy of Sapporo in Hokkaido.

Jeff Woodall, Black Bart, Steve Bartlett, Jay Lough, Burney Phelps, Pearson, Barnes, Tom, John Chat . . . I remember our days together well from the
"bus rides to exhibitions" to the marathon Myrtle Beach/Champaign throw-down (alas, we still lost). By the way, I think I redeemed my disgrace as an
IDR platoon leader by organizing and commanding the #2 drill team in the 2d Infantry Division! (Somethings you never forget). Glad to see so many in
touch and if all goes well I'll be at the Fall reunion.

I retired from Dolese Bros. Co. after 30 years of service on 8 February 2008. I started as a Project Engineer in1977 and ended up as Vice President. It
is a great Company and everyone should be as fortunate as I was to have had a career with such a fine organization. Betty and I began building our
dream home last June prior to my retirement and it is in the final stages of completion and should be finished some time in May or early June. Our
new mailing address is;

6334 SW Bayshore Dr.
Auburn, Kansas 66402

We are receiving our mail currently at that address even though we are living in the Holiday Inn until the home is completed. Everything is in storage.
In amongst all of the boxes somewhere is a photo album of my P/R years. In that album (according to Betty) is a picture(s) of the machine gun drill in
the hallway of the hotel in Fayetteville in 1968. Also in that album is a copy of the article published in The Collegian about our 1969 First Place finish,
in our class of Exibition Drill, in Champaign, Illinois. I think there are pictures of our routine in the album. Also somewhere I've got a 8X10 photo of the
1970 IDR Team that took Second Place behind Wichita State at the Regimental Meet in 1970. It's going to be a few months until we unpack
everything but hopefully there will be some real treasures to share.

I was at K-State from 1965 to 1969 and a member of the PR's during that time. After KSU, I went to graduate school at the University of Oklahoma
and obtained my master's degree in social work. Other, than my military time, I spent my career as a social worker in the Veterans Administration,
retiring as the Chief, Social Worker from the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System (hospitals in Leavenworth and Topeka) last June. I attend all the
home football games so I plan to attend the reunion.

I know that there are some other former PR's in this area including Jonathon Small who is a local attorney and a General in the National Guard. Ron
Keltner who was the commander in 1965 is a bank president with Silver Lake Bank (at least he was a few years ago - have not had contact with him).
William Vigneron was living in Lawrence area - saw him at a Boy Scout Camp a few years back.
